Long War 2 is a significant overhaul of XCOM 2 aimed at giving players the feel of running a worldwide guerrilla war against ADVENT and offering them a greater variety of strategic and tactical experiences. The close partnership between Firaxis and Long War Studios/Pavonis Interactive in creating mod content for XCOM 2 has created a muddy "semi-official" stance for that content including Long War 2. Still, endorsement by Firaxis isn't quite the same as being officially published by 2K so currently Long War 2 content doesn't belong on the wiki. The value of the Shinobi depends a lot on your capabilities as a commander. Though not the best killers in your line-up, their stealth can help you ambush the enemy, instead of blundering into them. Many of the mod's new mechanics are described ingame in the XCOM archives. ![]() This is firstly to keep the wiki focused and concise as it avoids the confusion of trying to catalog every change big and small (and often overlapping) made by the thousands of various mods out there secondly mods are for the moment a PC only feature and such content is of little aide/interest to console and mobile players. Shinobis are the scouts in Long War 2, but can also chop up sectoids, and lockdown Mutons.
